December 14 - 20

Christmas is almost here!  This year will be a different Christmas for some, but maybe that just means we can slow down and enjoy the season!

I hope you were able to join us yesterday.  In the morning we had our family friendly, Christmas at the Movies message with the Polar Express.  The kids joined us for a message where Pastor Troy encouraged us to "Believe" - in Jesus - because believing is the key to hearing and seeing the wonders of Christmas.  If you missed the message you can watch the online version on our YouTube channel.

Then last night we enjoyed a great performance from our kids!  The ALCC Pre-K brought lots of joy as they dressed like the nativity animals and sang for us.  Then the ALCC Kids did a great job as they presented Hotel Noel and reminded us what Christmas is really all about!  If you missed it, there are lots of posts from proud parents and grandparents on social media!!

Tomorrow morning our moms' group, Mama Co., meets at 9:15 AM.  This is a great opportunity for moms to get together for encouragement, laughs, and adult conversation.  If you know any moms, invite them to attend!  Child care is provided.

This Sunday, we will conclude our Christmas and the Movies series with...

Redemption is the beautiful carol of Christmas for all humanity.  Invite your friends and family to join us in person at 9 or 10:45 AM.  Or, if it works better for you, watch the film (we'll be watching the George C. Scott version) and then view our online sermon on our website or YouTube channel.

Also this Sunday, the kids will enjoy this fun event:

Since the end of 2020 is near, there are some things you might need to know.  First, offering envelopes are available for you to pick up in the back of the sanctuary.  If we didn't assign you a box of envelopes for 2021 and you'd like one, let me - Kim Forston - know.  Second, Pastor Troy mentioned a Christmas offering this past Sunday.  We will use these funds to help others in need and make updates to our facilities.  If you'd like to contribute to the 2020 Christmas offering you can do so by marking your envelope, using a "Christmas Offering" envelope available in the foyer, or choosing the "Christmas Offering" fund when giving via online or text.  Lastly, if you want to be sure your December offerings are credited to your 2020 contribution statement there are some things you need to remember.  Any offering given in service, dropped off at the church, or mailed and postmarked no later than December 31 will be attributed to 2020.  Unfortunately, due to the batching and delay in posting of online and text-to-give payments, any offering given using a credit/debit card after December 24 may not come through in time for year-end.  If your contribution needs to be attributed in 2020, please choose another method for payment.  Thanks!

Have a great week and enjoy this Christmas season!!

This Friday, October 27, is the Operation Christmas Child Packing Party .  Bring the whole family and join us in the Groundzero building at 6:30 PM to help fill our boxes with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and more!   We've been recognizing our pastors this month on social media, we've collected a few cards and notes, and this Sunday will be the last day we'll receive a special offering to bless our pastors and their wives.  If you haven't given yet you can do so by marking your envelope "Pastor Appreciation" when you give cash or a check in the offering.  You can also choose "Pastor Appreciation" from the fund drop down menu if you give online . This Sunday, October 29th is  Lisa Short's Birthday .  You still have a little time to send her a card or  you can send her a text or even post something on social media wishing her a happy birthday! Also, this Sunday is Celebration (with Friends) Sunday !  Invite your friends to join us for this
