Tomorrow is November 1, so here is the calendar for the month: Notice that Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend.  Most of us use smart devices that adjust automatically, but don't forget to change any of your analog clocks. This Sunday is the event we've all been waiting for.... We hope you've invited some friends to join you this coming Sunday for At the Movies with Friends .  We'll have the popcorn ready!  If you have friends that can't make it this weekend, invite them to come any Sunday in November as our favorite sermon series continues.  Just remember, we are not able to live-stream these services, so you must be present to enjoy this sermon series. If you're available Friday morning, come and join the Cutting Party in the Fellowship Hall at 9 AM, as they cut sheets for Bethlehem Costumes.  If you have any sheets to donate, please bring them to the church today before 4 PM or bring them with you Friday morning. On Friday evening, bring the whole family to the Operation Christmas Child Packing Party in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 PM.  It will be fun for everyone as they fill hundreds of boxes to bless children this Christmas.  If you have items to donate, please drop them off today before 4 PM, or bring them on Friday. Monday, October 28, the Ladies' Book Club meets at Jalisco in Newburgh at 6 PM. Tuesday, October 29, is Lisa Short's Birthday ! Be sure to wish her a happy birthday by card, text, or social media post! This Saturday, October 19, is the  Men's Golf Outing  at  The Bridges Golf Course of Henderson .  If you're signed up, please be there prior to 11 AM.  If you're not signed up but would like to play contact the church today and we'll get you in touch with Bill Partridge, or you can contact Bill directly. Once again, we will be meeting for Prayer on Tuesday, October 22, during the lunchtime hour of 12 to 1 PM.  If you're available for part or all of this hour, please join us in the sanctuary at ALCC. Wednesday, October 23, is the Young at Heart Luncheon at 11 AM in the Fellowship Hall.  If you're over 50, you won't want to miss this monthly event hosted by Pastor Mark and Lisa. This Saturday, October 12, is the monthly  Men's Breakfast  in the Fellowship Hall at 8:30 AM. As always, there will be a great meal and a special speaker. We are celebrating Pastor Appreciation this Sunday, October 13.  Be sure to bring in any notes, cards, or gifts and place them in the baskets on the table in the sanctuary.  The pastors will be taking them home after church.  If you prefer (or in addition to) you can give in the offering towards Pastor Appreciation.  All that is collected will be divided among the pastors.  To do this, simply mark your offering envelope "Pastor Appreciation" or choose "Pastor Appreciation" in the fund drop down list if you give online . It may be beginning to look a little like Christmas at ALCC but we are NOT decorating this early.  October is the month to prepare for Operation Christmas Child so our shoeboxes can reach children all around the world in December.  Last year our shoeboxes went to children in Georgia (the country formerly in the USSR, not the state).  We need your help to bless even more children this year.  Here are the ways you can get involved: Pick up a shoebox tag at the Hospitality Desk and fill a box (or boxes) yourself.  Return the box plus $10 for shipping to the Prayer Room by November 3. Pick up supplies to fill the church boxes.  There are Christmas trees in the sanctuary and back foyer with ornaments listing special "wow" items you can buy or go HERE for more gift suggestion and even a link to the OCC Amazon storefront.  All items need to be brought to the church no later than October 20 and placed in the collection box in the foyer.
