We are celebrating Pastor Appreciation this Sunday, October 13. Be sure to bring in any notes, cards, or gifts and place them in the baskets on the table in the sanctuary. The pastors will be taking them home after church. If you prefer (or in addition to) you can give in the offering towards Pastor Appreciation. All that is collected will be divided among the pastors. To do this, simply mark your offering envelope "Pastor Appreciation" or choose "Pastor Appreciation" in the fund drop down list if you give online.
This week Pastor Troy held our first Tuesday Prayer time. If you missed it this week, that's ok, because we will hold this lunchtime prayer event most Tuesdays of every month. The only Tuesday we will NOT meet would be the day before First Wednesday. So feel free to join us next week on Tuesday, October 15, from 12 to 1 PM, or for as long as you can.
Also on Tuesday, October 15, The Remnant Men's Bible study meets at ALCC at 6:30 PM.
Thursday, October 17, the Ladies' Prayer Group will meet in the ALCC Prayer Room at 9:30 AM.
Guys, sign up this Sunday for the Men's Golf Outing coming up on Saturday, October 19, at The Bridges Golf Course of Henderson. There is a sign up sheet at the Hospitality Desk in the foyer.
Operation Christmas Child is underway at ALCC! Be sure to grab an ornament from the trees in the sanctuary or by the overhang doors to help us fill our boxes with WOW gifts or help pay for shipping. Then plan to come to the Packing Party on October 25 at 6:30 PM to fill hundreds of boxes. Another option is to fill a box virtually, HERE, for $25.
Preparations for Bethlehem Revisited are also in the works! We are in need of some more costumes, so please be on the lookout for inexpensive sheets at garage sales, thrift stores and clearance racks. Solid colors are the best for our Bethlehem costumes. Please have all donations to the church before the Cutting Party scheduled for Friday, October 25, at 9 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome to help us cut the sheets into the pieces to be sewn by others for our costumes. For more information, see Chuck Tidd.
This Sunday, pick up your invitation "tickets" for At the Movies with Friends and be praying about the friends you can bring to church with you on Friend Day, November 3!
